Slip Clay and TBuckk were songwriting partners for over twenty years and performed together playing their own brew of original Texas gumbo style music. Legendary bass player Chuck Rainey and harmonica virtuoso Paul Harrington lay down the law on St. Peter Have Mercy, the track included on the CD.
TBuckk, or Tim Orsburn, used his voice, his guitar and his songs inspired by musicians like Fats Waller and Bob Dylan. After writing jingles for the City of Dallas Artist in Residence Program, he became known as the first “official artist” for the State of Texas and performed his own brand of Texas blues music around the state. After his death in 1998, he was given honorary recognition by the Texas Commission on the Arts for his notable contributions to Texas music.
