Sitting Pretty, the debut six-song CD by New York-born, Dallas-based singer-songwriter Lauren Gifford, came together after months of hard work with the development team of Edith and Oliver Letz. Often this kind of bio results in a manufactured teen pop star - a mold that really doesn't fit the grown-up Gifford and her sophisticated pop jazz compositions. Of course, when Gifford was in her teens, she was already dead-set on a music career, spending countless hours taking piano lessons and fine-tuning her voice under the tutelage of her high school choir teacher. Post high school, she continued to finesse her skills while concentrating on songwriting.
