The seminal Tejano band Latin Breed reached its zenith in the early to late '70s by enhancing the genre's original template with jazz arrangements, big brass power and cool sophistication. The group was formed in the summer of 1969 by tenor sax player Rudy Guerra, trumpeter, Charlie McBurney and bassist Pete Garza. After a brief break-up the band reformed in 1973 with a stronger line-up including several members of the defunct Sonny Ozuna and the Sunliners, as well as vocalist Jimmy Edward. The group's 1973 album, "Return of Latin Breed" generated the hits "Tejano Enamorado" and "Todos Dicen.'' In 1990, Latin Breed began a resurrection with the single, "Ay Mujer".
