Grupo Vida turns head with the Tazmanian antics of accordionist Sonny Sauceda and a solid rhythm section. Formed in 1992 in San Antonio by John Villanueva and Tim Villanueva, Grupo Vida released its debut album, "Vida," with Tejas Records. The album took off behind the success of the hit singles, "Sin Buenas Condiciones," and "Together Forever," the latter earning a Grammy nod. The group quickly became known for its high-energy stage show that included wild theatrics from Sauceda, who would spin, jump and juke while playing his accordion. The group struck up a friendship with Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks, and opened for the band’s 2001 Fly Tour.
