Though Boz Scaggs grew up in Dallas, his music roots also come from New Orleans, Memphis, Tenn., and Chicago. After performing in Eastern Europe, he began recording professionally with the Steve Miller Band in 1967. Scaggs has recorded 15 records to date, including “Slow Dancer” in 1970 and the “Middle Man” in 1980. He has won one Grammy Award and been nominated for anther with “Come on Home,” a blues and R&B collection from which his performance of “Jimmy Reed’s “Found Love” appears on the Texas Music Project CD. He currently is touring in the United States performing tracks from his latest release, “But Beautiful,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Jazz Chart.
