"DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS MUSIC" SINGING CONTEST!!!

OCTOBER 10TH 6 – 9 p.m.

GRAPEVINE'S PALACE THEATER !

 

·        One song with picture must be mailed or delivered or one link to website, MySpace, or other online music entity (sonicbids, etc.)

·        The Entry Fee for the contest is $20 and will go to the non-profit Texas Music Project for Texas Schools!

·        DEADLINE for entry is OCTOBER 7, 2009 including entries by mail.

·        Both bands and solo performers can enter!

·        Age categories:  Category I  8 – 14  Category II  15 – and up!

·        Submit one song only, any length.

·        Any contestant under the legal age of 18 selected as a finalist must provide the express written consent of a parent or legal guardian within 48 hours of notification in order to receive prizes, publicity and/or promotion through Texas Music Project or its partners.

·        You must be the singer on the recording.

·        Finalists and winners give Texas Music Project permission to use any video or audio for future marketing, promotion or special event in association with this contest, without financial consideration. 

·        The criteria for judging include musicianship, uniqueness (in sound, look, showmanship and arrangements), performance (how entertaining the band/performer is) and audience reaction (how well they connect with the audience).  The decision of the judges is final.

·        Musical selections need to be appropriate for a general audience.

·        Wardrobe needs to be age appropriate and general audience appropriate. 

 

·        Winners will need to contact us prior to the gig about stage requirements.  You will be provided with one wireless microphone.

 

·        TMP has the right to refuse anyone who has falsified information relating to age, validity of singer on recording, and / or extensive pitch fix that causes your true value of a singer to be compromised. 

 

·        Entries can be submitted three ways:

 

·        Send a link to your web page, MySpace, or You Tube!

·        Drop off a CD (no tapes) to Septien Entertainment Group, (Septien School of Contemporary Music) 2015 Midway Road Suite, 107, Carrollton Texas, 75006.  972-392-2810.  (Beltine/Midway area)

·        Mail a CD to The Septien Group, Inc. P.O. Box 800887 Dallas, Texas 75380. 

·        All CDs that are mailed or dropped off must include a picture and accurate contact information along with a check for $20 payable to "Texas Music Project".

·        Name of song

·        Name, phone, address

·        Email (if under 15, parents email only)

·        Winners will both be posted on Texas Music Project and contacted by email or phone.

·        Winners MUST have band members available or backing track to sing to on gig date of October 10th to open for Lone Star Attitude.

·        Additions or deletions to these rules may be made at the discretion of Texas Music Project and may be changed at any time
