JAM To Give Summer Concert Series
June 25, 2008

Free seven-week concert series, sponsored by Texas Music Project, to begin Friday, July 11

Cedar Hill, Texas - Uptown Village at Cedar Hill will host a seven-week summer concert series, titled "JAM to Give," that will benefit nonprofit organizations in the Cedar Hill community. The concerts, sponsored by Texas Music Project (TMP) to support music education in Texas schools, are free to the public and will be held on the Village Green every Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the weeks of July 11 through Aug. 22.

During each concert, Uptown Village will recognize a different local nonprofit organization with a check presentation for a $500 donation. Organizations recognized through the concert series include Bridges Safehouse, Cedar Hill Food Pantry, Cedar Hill Education Foundation, Friends of Tri City Animal Shelter, Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, Texas Music Project and Wisdom Trail District Boy Scouts. In addition, Uptown Village will host an in-kind donation drive during each concert to benefit the partnering nonprofit organization. Items requested by each nonprofit will be posted on Uptown Village's web site, www.uptownvillageatcedarhill.com, and on signage at Uptown Village beginning the first week in July.

"This concert series offers a unique opportunity for our guests at Uptown Village to enjoy free, quality entertainment while also giving back to their community through the in-kind donation drives," said Gail Johnson, marketing director for Uptown Village at Cedar Hill. "Friends and family can spend the entire evening at Uptown Village relaxing on the Village Green, listening to the concert, watching their children play in the interactive fountain, dining at one of our restaurants and shopping at our many retail stores."

Uptown Village's sponsor for the concert series, Texas Music Project, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen and restore music education in Texas Schools. TMP is sponsoring Uptown Village's "JAM to Give" concert series as part of its Texas Tour Music Series, titled "Don't Mess with Texas Music."
