Texas Music Project initiated a two-day Community Music Celebration with Bass Performance Hall and the Fort Worth
Arts Education Partnership to promote music education to Fort Worth community leaders and generate needed funding for music ed
programs benefiting the Fort Worth Independent School District. Master Classes for elementary children and teachers were conducted
by noted music education expert, Dr. John Feierabend. Two other Master Classes presented by the Sacred Harp Singers and other
Great High Mountain Tour artists delighted attending musicians, educators and guests. A Community Lucheon featuring key note remarks
by Dr. Feierabend and T Bone Burnett was also a great success. The entire Celebration for music education culminated in a benefit
perfomance by the Great High Mountain Tour and generated $70,000 for music education programs in Fort Worth.
