DIET PEPSI JAZZ® SCORES A HIT FOR TEXAS MUSIC PROJECT

The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. Donates $20,000 for Music Education

DALLAS, Texas, December 4, 2006 – You could say that The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. (PBG) is “jazzing” up music education in Texas. That’s because PBG developed a promotional program that allowed consumers to enjoy the great taste of Jazz®, a new line of indulgent zero-calorie colas, while at the same time supporting the Texas Music Project (TMP).

During the month of August, the company donated a portion of the proceeds from all local sales of 20-ounce and 2-liter bottles and 12-pack cans of Jazz® to the TMP. Jazz® by the makers of Diet Pepsi was introduced this summer in Black Cherry French Vanilla and Strawberries and Cream. By the end of the promotion, PBG contributed more than $20,000 to this organization.

“The Pepsi Bottling Group’s donation to the Texas Music Project deserves a standing ovation and round of applause,” said Michael Clay, President and Co-Founder of the Texas Music Project. “ The company has set a stellar example for Texas and the world with the Jazz® promotion by raising funds for music education in our schools. This was a brilliant idea and we just can’t thank PBG enough.”

“The Texas Music Project provides a vital service to our children by bringing music education back into the schools,” said Pat Boggs, Vice President and General Manager of PBG’s Texas Market Unit. “Pepsi has a rich musical heritage so this was a natural fit. We’re very pleased with the success of this program and proud to support the great work of the Texas Music Project.”

The Texas Music Project is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring and strengthening music education in Texas public schools. To date, more than 700,000 students in Texas communities and schools have benefited from grants distributed by TMP. With the help and generosity of Texas musicians as well as guest artists, TMP has released four critically acclaimed “Don’t Mess with Texas Music”™ CD compilations. The CDs and more information about TMP are available at its website, www.texasmusicproject.org

The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. (www.pbg.com )is the world's largest manufacturer, seller and distributor of Pepsi-Cola beverages with operations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Turkey and Greece.
